German Business Circle starts with record participation into the year of 2018


NEOM - the most exciting and ambitious project worldwide, attracted more than 85 high-ranked guests from the German-Saudi business community to the Riyadh Marriott Hotel on Tuesday evening. At the inaugural meeting in the year of 2018 Oliver Oehms, Delegate of German Industry & Commerce for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen welcomed the CEO of NEOM, Klaus Kleinfeld, among other representatives of the Saudi mega-project, who had followed the invitation of the German Embassy Riyadh. After a short presentation about the "City of the Future" Kleinfeld answered questions in a one-hour conference with the present German Business Circle.

With an investment volume of more than $ 500 billion, the futuristic mega-city in the northwest of the country on an area of approximately 26,500 km², is aiming to set new standards in various fields such as biotechnology, production technology as well as mobility and energy efficiency. "NEOM is situated on one of the world's most prominent economic arteries. Its strategic location will also facilitate the zone's rapid emergence as a global hub that connects Asia, Europe, and Africa," explained Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh in October 2017.

The German business community was unexceptional impressed by the project and signaled enormous interest in possible investments and cooperations. The first phase of the Saudi mega project is scheduled to be completed in 2025 according to current plans.
