More than 800 guests at German Breakfast & Catalog Shows in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain

200 German companies are invested in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, more than 40,000 people are employed by German giants as well as SMEs in Saudi Arabia. During the 15th German Breakfast and Catalog Show 2018 - organized by GESALO - companies, institutions, and decision-makers from both countries were gathering in four locations in the region to celebrate and enhance the economic relations.

The final ceremony in Riyadh was the culmination of the three-week roadshow through the regional hubs of Dammam, Manama, and Jeddah. Opened by Oliver Oehms, Delegate of German Industry and Commerce for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen, and the German Ambassador, H.E. Dieter W. Haller, 200 high-ranked business guests attended the show at the Crowne Plaza RDC Hotel & Convention in Riyadh. In total, more than 800 friends of the bilateral business relations participated in this year's events to jointly identify cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

“We are trying to venture into new fields of partnership, and there is a lot of work in progress between our two countries. We are proud that the scope of cooperation is getting broader, and we are pleased to be part of this dynamic development,” Delegate Oliver Oehms said during his speech. The German Ambassador Dieter W. Haller added: „I am happy about the large turnout this morning. The German Breakfast and Catalog Show has become a true tradition in the event calendar”. He addressed a special thanks to the Guest of Honor, Dr. Saud A. Al-Mashari, the Secretary General of the Council of Saudi Chambers.

All speakers underlined the strong business ties between the largest economies in the Middle East and the European Union. The bilateral trade exchange amounted to almost 8 billion EUR (36 billion SAR) in the year 2017. Furthermore, Germany is the third largest supplier of goods to Saudi Arabia.

The strong support and huge interest of German companies in the Kingdom is shown by the great list of exhibiting companies at the Catalog Show in Riyadh, such as Robert Bosch Middle East FZE, DB Schenker, Sixt, V-LINE SAUDI ARABIA Ltd., thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions, Lufthansa German Airlines, Rheinmetall International Holding AG, Gerolsteiner Brunnen GmbH & Co., Detecon Al Saudia Co.
