In diesem Jahr feiert GESALO sein 45-jähriges Bestehen. Am vergangenen Donnerstag feierte das GESALO-Team gemeinsam mit geschätzten Geschäftspartnern und Vertretern saudischer Institutionen die 45-jährige Präsenz in Saudi-Arabien.
Gemeinsam feierten wir mit Dr. Volker Treier und Elisabeth Strahl, die das globale Netzwerk der deutschen Auslandshandelskammern (AHK) vertreten. Während der Veranstaltung tauschten unsere Partner ihre Perspektiven und Erfahrungen zu den wirtschaftlichen Entwicklungen im Land aus und betonten die Rolle der GESALO bei der Förderung der saudi-deutschen Geschäftsbeziehungen.

On this occasion, GESALO celebrated their Jubilee with over 200 guests in the Garden of Al-Waseel Gem in Riyadh, together with representatives from Saudi Institutions, German companies, and a high-ranking delegation from the German Chamber of Commerce (DIHK). GESALO is part of a worldwide network of German Chambers, coordinated by the DIHK in Berlin.
“We are proud to be a key driver for economic bilateral cooperation between our two countries”, says Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte, Delegate of German Industry & Commerce for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen. “We thank our Saudi partners for their continuous support, and we are looking forward to future joint projects.”
On 22 August, 1978, the first office for German–Saudi economic relations was inaugurated and established by Royal Decree. The ever-growing bilateral economic cooperation and the acknowledgment of high-quality German products boosted the trade relations between the two countries. In 2022, German exports to Saudi Arabia exceed 6.7 billion euro p.a. and covered mainly sectors such as Chemicals, Machinery, Automotive and Food.
For over 45 years, the team of GESALO dedicates their efforts to the needs of the Saudi-German business community: They remain the first entry point for many German companies in the market, support Saudi delegations to Germany and create platforms for exchange between Saudi and German stakeholders. They offer various services from Jeddah to Riyadh all the way to the Eastern Province and Bahrain.
Today, the diversification of the economy in light of Vision 2030 offers increasing opportunities for German companies. The transformation process initiated fruitful exchanges between high-ranking representatives from both countries. GESALO plays a crucial role in facilitating these exchanges, as well as meetings between the Ministry of Energy, Aramco, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and other key stakeholders with German off-takers.
