Market exploration to Saudi Arabia Mining and Mineral Resources
GESALO, the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen in collaboration with Mena Business GmbH, has organized a market exploration to Saudi Arabia (Riyadh and Dammam), with the support of the VDMA Mining Association and the Foreign Mining Association (FAB) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economic Aiffairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
Saudi Arabia is rich of resources, being explored to set-up value chains within the Kingdom. The mining industry is one of the focus sectors in the diversification of the economy. The opportunities for German companies have been very evident during the German-Saudi Symposium for Minerals and Mining, part of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) Mittelstand GLOBAL Foreign Market Entry Programme GESALO organized with its partners MENA Business GmbH, VDMA and Fachvereinigung Auslandsbergbau (FAB) / Foreign Mining Association.
Symposium Mining and Minerals Sector
15 German companies from the Mining and Minerals Sector presented their state-of-the-art technology. The symposium was kicked off with a presentation by Abdulaziz Aldakhil, Mining Director from National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) on the Saudi mining strategy after a welcome of by Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte, Delegate of German Industry & Commerce for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen. Stephan Oehme, VDMA highlighted latest solutions from the German side.
The event was concluded with remarks from H.E. Michael Kindsgrab, German Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. We would like to thank our partners from Mittelstand Global, VDMA, MENA Business GMBH and FAB for the great collaboration.
Meeting opportunity with local decision-makers and potential business partners
During the Market Exploration Saudi Arabia Mining and Mineral Resources, the participants had the opportunity visiting local decision-makers and potential business partners as well as reference projects.
The team at GESALO organized various high-level meetings with National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) and Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (MIM). NIDLP aims to make the Kingdom a leading global player in the energy, mining, logistics and industrial sectors. MIM aims to strengthen the industrial mining sector in accordance with the Saudi Vision 2030.
The day was complemented with meetings at companies like Ajlan & Bros Holding (ABH) and Manara Minerals. ABH is operating in diverse sectors such as mining, technology, industrial, logistics developing a comprehensive strategy that ensures the development of business to meet the objectives of Vision2030. Manara Minerals is a venture between the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) and the Public Investment Fund (PIF) to invest in mining assets globally and support the development of resilient global supplychains.
The meetings focused on business opportunities, potential business relationships and networking. The Saudi Arabian economy is in a state of change with a lot of new opportunities for German and international companies. The participating companies explored new business prospects on the Saudi market.
Market Exploration | Eastern Province
Ras Al Khair Industrial city is home to promising mining and industrial factories. The German market exploration delegation visited Ras Al Khair on Wednesday to learn about the development plans of the city from the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) and Ma'aden.
Two site visits to Ma'aden Alcoa - one of the world's largest integrated Aluminium production factories and Ma'aden Phosphate, the main facility of the Kingdoms phosphate production for export - gave insights into the current opportunities and demands of the mining field. The German companies got to pitch their solutions and products and engaged into an active discussion of their use cases in Ras Al Khair.
