Given the current trend of automotive innovation in the Kingdom – culminated in the launch of the e-car brand CEER last month – this GSBM issue sheds light on the sector’s supply chains and implementation on the ground. CEER is estimated to create up to 30,000 jobs and to contribute $8 bn to Saudi economy by 2034.

GSBM Edition December 2021 | Waste Management

Vision 2030 is emphasizing sustainability and the recent announcement that Saudi Arabia aims to become carbon neutral by 2060 underlines the ambitious commitment. 

Moving away from linear to more circular approaches, the Kingdom is aiming to set up a circular carbon economy. Setting up a waste management and recycling sector is one of the most important steps of the transformation to a circular economy.

GSBM Edition June 2021 | Regional Headquarters

The Regional Headquarter initiative has put the Kingdom in the focus for many companies in the region. According to the announcement companies participating in government tenders should locate their regional headquarters in the Kingdom by 2024. The initiative is part of the Vision 2030 to support the diversification of the industry. GESALO is happy to support the process and discussions with the relevant institutions.

GSBM Edition December 2020 | Hydrogen

Saudi Arabia is setting up a circular carbon economy. One focus is green hydrogen. The Kingdom announced its first green hydrogen plant in October. Until 2030 the Kingdom plans to generate 58.7 GW from Renewable Energy resources. Sustainability, Energy Efficiency, and hydrogen were also focus areas of GESALO within the last months. This issue highlights interesting activities around the hydrogen sector.
