Start: 07.09.2025
End: 10.09.2025
Where: Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
As part of the ‘Saudi Vision 2030’, Saudi Arabia is pursuing comprehensive economic diversification and social liberalisation in order to reduce its dependence on oil and drive forward the expansion of key sectors such as healthcare, education, infrastructure and tourism.
The healthcare sector is undergoing one of the biggest transformations in the world and is estimated to grow by more than 10% per year over the next few years. Saudi Arabia endeavors to work closely with European countries.
The Saudi healthcare sector is undergoing one of the world's largest transformation processes. The aim is to establish a ‘value-based healthcare system’.
The focus is on the development of prevention programmes, the establishment of a rehabilitation sector, the expansion of digital applications (e-health) and the connection of remote rural areas.
As part of this transformation, Saudi Arabia is investing heavily in the modernisation of the healthcare system while at the same time pursuing far-reaching privatisation plans. Around 70% of healthcare is currently in state hands, but privatisation measures have already been initiated.
The associated investments offer numerous opportunities for Bavarian companies on the ground. In this ambitious project, the state is reliant on foreign expertise in areas such as equipment, quality management, hospital planning and operation, as well as e-health solutions. The use of digitalisation and AI is already finding its first applications.
In the long term, Saudi Arabia aims to reduce its dependence on foreign suppliers, create many domestic jobs and increase local value creation.
Bavarian medical technology companies have a great opportunity to be considered for procurements, both as main contractors for major projects and as subcontractors and suppliers.
The itinerary of this trip will include various B2B appointments with Saudi companies and healthcare institutions; a draft programme is currently being prepared. We kindly ask you to book your flights and accommodation independently.
