From February 9 to 11, 2025 a museum delegation visited Riyadh and Jeddah to engage with key cultural institutions and explore Saudi Arabia’s evolving heritage landscape. The trip focused on deepening collaborations, exchanging expertise, and expanding the delegation’s presence in the Saudi cultural sector.

Many participating companies are already involved in projects in Saudi Arabi. This visit aimed to build on these efforts and identify new opportunities to strengthen their role in the Saudi market, supporting the Kingdom’s cultural goals under Vision 2030.

Discovering Riyadh’s Cultural Ambitions

The visit began in Riyadh, where the delegation met with leading cultural organizations shaping the city’s heritage and arts scene. A meeting with a representative of Qiddiya offered a glimpse into one of Saudi Arabia’s most ambitious cultural and entertainment projects. The group also met with the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and the Ministry of Culture to discuss the capital’s transformation into a global cultural hub.

The delegation also explored Diriyah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, touring At-Turaif, the birthplace of the Saudi state, and learning about ongoing preservation efforts. An additional meeting with the First Gulf Company provided further insight into Saudi Arabia’s cultural development plans.

Experiencing Jeddah’s Rich Heritage

The delegation then traveled to Jeddah, a city known for its unique blend of history and modernity. A visit to the House of Islamic Art Museum showcased an impressive collection of artifacts celebrating Islamic art and heritage. The group also visited East Delta Saudi Co. Ltd. to learn about its contributions to the cultural and tourism sectors.

A guided tour of Old Jeddah brought the city’s rich history to life, with its distinctive architecture, bustling souks, and vibrant traditions.

The visit not only reinforced existing partnerships but also opened doors for new, impactful collaborations that will shape the future of cultural exchange between Saudi Arabia and international institutions.
