Sport Delegation Trip to Riyadh with SPOBIS

The German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO), in partnership with SPOBIS, organized a delegation trip to Riyadh aimed at exploring Saudi Arabia’s sports market and at fostering cooperation opportunities.

The trip commenced at the GESALO offices, featuring a comprehensive market overview, followed by an insightful briefing on Saudi Arabia’s political and economic framework from a representative of the German Embassy, and concluded with a session on the country’s legal and tax environment presented by a specialist lawyer.

The delegation was kindly hosted by the Royal Commission for Riyadh and the Public Investment Fund (PIF), both highlighting the Kingdom’s strategic investments and vision for the sector.

GESALO was also pleased to host a Roundtable discussion, where leading experts from the German business community in Saudi Arabia shared their experiences related to the expansion of the Kingdom’s entertainment and sports infrastructure sectors. Further, we would like to extend our special thanks to Leonel Delgado for his presentation at our offices, during which he shared valuable advice on strategies for successful market entry.

On the second day, the delegation was warmly received by key stakeholders shaping Saudi Arabia’s entertainment and sports landscape, including the Royal Commission for AlUla, Qiddiya, the Saudi Football Federation, and the Saudi Pro League.
