The German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO) organised a delegation trip to Riyadh and Jeddah in cooperation with the IHK-Exportakademie GmbH and the Chambers of Industry and Commerce of Baden-Württemberg. The programme focused on machinery and plant engineering for the pharmaceutical, chemical, automotive, food, and electronics industries.
Within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030, the Kingdom is driving industrial diversification and strengthening local value chains. The trip began with a market briefing by our Delegate Dr Dalia Samra Rohte, followed by a meeting at the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA) where participants gained an overview of market opportunities and regulatory frameworks.
A site visit to Alfanar offered first-hand insights into one of the region’s most advanced production facilities.
A networking event at the Riyadh Chamber enabled targeted B2B meetings. Meetings with Hikma Pharmaceuticals and CEER provided insights into current developments in the pharmaceutical and automotive sectors.
In Jeddah, the delegation joined a roundtable at the Jeddah Chamber and held further B2B meetings with local stakeholders. The programme concluded with a visit to Juffali Group, including a tour of its production site for Daimler Truck, showcasing advanced manufacturing capabilities in the Kingdom.
Overall, the trip provided valuable market insights and strengthened economic ties between Baden-Württemberg and Saudi Arabia. We sincerely thank all participants and our Saudi partners for their excellent cooperation and warm hospitality.
