The discussion explored the direction of Germany’s evolving energy landscape, highlighting key opportunities and challenges. Maira Kusch, Head of Office at the World Energy Council, shared valuable insights on global energy trends and policy developments.
Energy transformation remains a cornerstone of economic change in both countries. Under Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is accelerating the expansion of renewable energy and advanced technologies, while Germany continues to advance its energy transition through innovation, system integration, and industrial expertise.
Clean hydrogen and energy diversification emerged as central themes. Saudi Arabia aims to position itself as a leading exporter and global hub for clean hydrogen, while Germany contributes strong industrial demand and technological know-how—creating significant potential for strategic cooperation.
The discussion was extended to Yemen and offered valuable insights into how German companies can contribute to efforts by Saudi Arabia and the Government of Yemen to support the development and reconstruction of Yemen’s energy sector.
