This week the German Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO) had the honour of supporting the German Embassy Riyadh in organising the visit of H.E. Carsten Schneider, Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection and his delegation to Saudi Arabia.
The visit began with the inauguration of IFAT Saudi Arabia, a milestone event highlighting the growing importance of climate protection, resource efficiency, and sustainable industrial development amid the Kingdom’s ongoing economic transformation. These developments continue to open significant opportunities for German companies.
This momentum was further reflected during a roundtable discussion hosted by the German Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO) at the German Embassy, attended by H.E. Carsten Schneider, the German Ambassador to Saudi Arabia H.E. Michael Kindsgrab, and the German Ambassador to Yemen H.E. Thomas Schneider. German companies from the water, recycling, and related industrial sectors shared insights into the vast potential of the Saudi market during a one‑hour discussion moderated by our Delegate Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte.
To showcase the strong localisation efforts underway, the GESALO office also organised a visit to KSB Company factory in Riyadh’s Industrial City, where German companies are increasingly establishing a local footprint in the Kingdom.
