On 24 September 2021, for the first time in history, Saudi Arabia enacted a comprehensive Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).
Once it will come into force, on 23 March 2022, a clear set of rules drawn from international best practices will protect all individual owners of personal and 'sensitive' data against abusive disclosure and processing both by the private and the public sector. 23 March 2022 will also mark the beginning of a one-year grace period after which all organizations in the Kingdom must comply in full with the provisions of the new Law, and thus avoid hefty penalties of up to three million Saudi Riyals.
A panel of international and local experts will explain the PDPL 2021 and answer your questions.
