I’m Honored to be the New CEO of Siemens Saudi Arabia
I feel humbled and proud to be appointed as CEO of Siemens Saudi Arabia. It’s an enormous responsibility but also a tremendous opportunity.
Covid-19 has transformed our lives and presented us with challenges we haven’t seen in generations, and along with those challenges many heroic people emerged to fight the effects of the pandemic. I must compliment our team members. We continued to conduct business and I especially want to acknowledge our colleagues who worked at our plants and at customer project sites. Your health and safety are our first priority, while we maintain business continuity as much as responsibly possible. Thank you to everyone for your great teamwork and strong commitment.
Today, Siemens has split into two companies. I’ll be leading Siemens Saudi Arabia, a company that’s focused on industry and infrastructure, and is building on a legacy spanning nearly a century in the Kingdom. Our energy business is now an independent company, but our colleagues who will shape the future of Siemens Energy in Saudi Arabia will inshallah continue to be our close partners. We may be independent businesses now, but we are still members of the Siemens family.
Brighter Future
Saudi Arabia is undergoing a social, cultural and economic transformation. Vision 2030 continues to inform the Kingdom’s economic policy that’s shifting from a focus on crude exports to renewable energy, additive manufacturing, tourism, healthcare and smart cities. As a market leader in automation, electrification and digitalization, I’m confident we will be central to realizing this vision.
Siemens has been involved in some of the most innovative and prestigious projects in Saudi Arabia. We supplied over 300,000 devices protecting and automating the electrical grid in Saudi Arabia, and our Kilo 14 factory in Jeddah manufactured its 10,000th “Made in KSA” medium-voltage switchgear panel. We also delivered process automation for the world’s largest solar powered desalination plant in the Northeast of Saudi Arabia.
There are even bigger opportunities to provide technologies for smart buildings, smart grid, energy efficiency, process automation and more, as the Kingdom, going forward with Vision 2030, embarks on tremendous plans across Saudi Arabia.
The best part is that these developments will be led and implemented by Saudi citizens. Siemens has significantly increased its Saudization rate over the past 10 years. We have instituted industrial training programs and founded partnerships with local universities.
Despite all the challenges being faced with Covid-19, I still consider this an exciting moment to lead Siemens in Saudi Arabia, standing side by side with the country throughout difficult times to support the Kingdom on its journey toward realizing Vision 2030 – a vibrant society, a thriving economy and an ambitious nation. I am proud to be able to serve our customers and our country. - LinkedIn, Ahmad Hawsawi
