Bavaria intensifies economic relations with the Arabian Peninsula.
A delegation of 30 delegates from business, science and politics visited Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. In Riyadh, Dammam and Manama, he spoke with government representatives from both countries and regional key players from the fields of energy and hydrogen, environmental technology and medical technology.
Saudi Arabia is in an incomparable Transformationsprozess. 35 Bavarian companies were able to convince themselves of this under the direction of Ministerial Director Dr. Ulrike Wolf from the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. The main topics were energy, environmental technology and medical technology. The GESALO team of Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte organized high-level appointments for the delegation participants in Riyadh, the Eastern Province and Bahrain.
"This is just the beginning," said one participant. "After the insights and great discussions with the most important players, it is clear to us: We will be back!"
Wirtschaftsstaatssekretär Roland Weigert: „Bayern steht seit Jahrzehnten erfolgreich in wirtschaftlichen Beziehungen mit dem arabischen Raum. Saudi-Arabien ist Teil der 20 wichtigsten Volkswirtschaften der Welt und mit einem Handelsvolumen von über 650 Millionen Euro einer unserer bedeutendsten Handelspartner im Nahen und Mittleren Osten. Mit der Reformagenda ‚Vision Saudi 2030‘ verfolgt das Land einen ehrgeizigen Modernisierungskurs. Wirtschaftlich steht der Übergang ins post-fossile Zeitalter im Mittelpunkt. Saudi-Arabien arbeitet am weitreichenden Umbau der Wirtschaft in Richtung einer energetischen und industriellen Diversifizierung, will mehr ausländische Direktinvestitionen ins Land holen und kleine und mittlere Unternehmen stärken.“
