Bahrain German Symposium

Utilizing Talents in an Evolving Economy was the title of the Bahraini-German Symposium GESALO organized in cooperation with the Applied Science University (ASU) in the kingdom Bahrain at the ASU premises.

Over 100 students, attending from various faculties, engaged in an interactive knowledge exchange throughout two panel discussions with German industry leaders. The panels discussed integrating graduates into workforce as well as the application of innovative German technology in collaboration with the education Sector.

The symposium was opened by Professor Waheeb Al Khaja, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Applied Science University and Board Member of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce as well as the German Ambassador H.E. Clemens Hach. Our Delegate Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte moderated both panel discussions with industry experts from Siemens, BASF, SAP and RMA Technologies. The discussions gave the students an insight into the uses of Artificial Intelligence, necessary soft skills, or recruitment processes.

“The symposium was an excellent platform for the Bahraini students and academia to exchange ideas with the German industry based in the region. In a transforming world the exchange and application of innovative technology in the education sector became even more important.said Dr. Dalia Samra-Rohte, Delegate of the German Industry for Saudi-Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen.

As the symposium was coinciding with Bahraini Women's Day the panelist also highlighted female integration programs of the industry as well as the achievements of female participation in the workforce.
