Saudi Arabia to Host IFAT Exhibition and Conference in Riyadh

29.01.2025

Saudi Arabia will welcome the IFAT Exhibition and Conference for the first time in early 2026, a significant collaboration between the National Center for Waste Management (MWAN) and Messe München of Germany. The agreement was signed at a special ceremony in Riyadh, attended by Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman Alfadley, alongside MWAN CEO Dr. Abdullah Alsebaei, Deputy for strategic Partnerships and Local Content at the Saudi Water Authority and Messe München CEO Stefan Rummel.

As a guest at the ceremony, we were proud to support our partner, Messe München, which we have represented in Saudi Arabia for several years.

The IFAT Conference will serve as a hub for global and regional entities to exchange expertise, showcase innovative waste management and water treatment technologies, and support Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 goals. These include increasing recycling rates, restructuring waste management, and encouraging investment in sustainable infrastructure.

MWAN aims to achieve impressive milestones by 2040, such as separating 91% of waste at the source, preparing 79% for recycling, and diverting 90% of waste from landfills. This event will further strengthen Saudi Arabia’s role as a leader in sustainable environmental solutions.

We congratulate Messe München and MWAN on this milestone and look forward to the transformative impact IFAT will bring to the region!
